Nichole has been singing and harmonizing for many years. She is active at her church, where she sings and plays piano in the worship group. She joined Sweet Adelines in 2014 and has been singing barbershop ever since. Her tenure with members of Surround Sound started in 2015 with Julie and Renee in the Risky Business quartet. She's been singing with those two ever since.
Nichole and Rodney, her husband, are the proud parents of two wonderful young men; Edward, who serves in the Space Force (an arm of the Air Force), and Max, who works construction.

Renee was introduced to barbershop in the year 2000 and has been singing in Sweet Adelines choruses and quartets since then, currently with Surround Sound Quartet. Her first performing experiences were as a child doing folk dances on stage and singing harmonies with her sister as they accompanied themselves on guitars.
She is excited to be part of this talented group of singers.

Singng almost her entire life, Julie credits a large part of her music education to her classical piano instructor, Mrs. Trudy Strauss, who taught her not only piano, but piano performance, music theory and a love of classical music. She began voice study in earnest in her late 30s with Dr. Juliana Hoch, director of Loveland Opera Theater. She attended graduate classes in vocal pedagogy at the University of Northern Colorado, is an ongoing student of Estill Voice Training, and continues to teach voice professionally.
Her barbershop experience started when she was in her 20s. Her love of barbershop led her to direct two successful Sweet Adelines International choruses, including the Greeley Harmonix chorus, and singing in numerous barbershop quartets. She is on the Sweet Adelines Region 8 education faculty and teaches a variety of classes in vocal pedagogy.

Shelley started singing with Surround Sound in 2022. Shelley has performed in jazz groups and choir in high school and was excited to try barbershop. And, yes, she loves it. Her taste in music is eclectic, though. One of her favorite music groups? Disturbed! Who knew?!?
Shelley teaches AP science in high school and holds an M.Ed in curriculum and technology. She will gladly talk about her time at space camp - she is an unabashed science nerd - and has a remarkable tattoo of the planets on her shoulder. When she's not singing or being scientific, she enjoys spending time with husband Scott and family time with her grown girls and their spouses Alyssa (Nick), Marissa (Michael) and Nova.
